Sea moss is rich in iron which makes it very important for vegans because iron is mostly found in animal foods. Iron helps the body create red blood cells and boost your energy levels.

Sea moss serves as a probiotic for the stomach. It is also full of fibre which promotes a healthy colon and digestive system.
While sea moss seems to be very beneficial for all round health, there is insufficient research to support it's benefits for sickle cell patients.

DOSAGE AND SIDE EFFECTS.

Sea moss can be taken in is raw form which is sun dried and packaged. It can also be taken in powder form to be added to foods or in gel form or in capsule as an oral supplement. It is advised not to take more than 2 tablespoons of sea moss in a day as an excess of it could cause iodine poisoning.

Because research about sea moss is still relatively new, not much is known about it's effects and side effects so when adding sea moss to your diet do so in little quantities to avoid health risks.
